Staff and residents recently spent the day working side by side to improve the shared outdoor space at Tom Raine Court.
The project is about more than improving the look of the area. For residents who may experience isolation, anxiety or low confidence, having access to a safe and welcoming outdoor space can make a real difference. It gives people somewhere to spend time outside, use the shared space and feel a greater sense of pride in where they live.
The day formed part of a wider project to improve the outdoor space and make it more useful and welcoming for residents.
We’re grateful to everyone who helped make the volunteer day possible through practical support and donations.
A special thank you to Nando’s for providing lunch for volunteers, JT Atkinson for their generous donation of bricks, decorative stones, cement and sand, and MKM for donating sand, cement and stones. These materials will support future improvements to the space, including planned work with college students to help build planters and other outdoor features.
Thank you also to Morrisons for donating a £20 voucher and B&Q for donating shrubs.
As a non-profit organisation, practical support from local businesses makes a real difference. Every donation, large or small, helped bring the day together and supports the continued improvement of the space for residents.
Thank you to everyone who gave their time, materials and support. Your contribution has helped make Tom Raine Court a more welcoming outdoor space for residents to enjoy and take pride in.
