Salvation Army Homes want to share an announcement from the Independent Housing Ombudsman about a third-party cyber-attack they have experienced.
We take complaints seriously and all residents who raise a complaint have a right to refer their complaint to the Housing Ombudsman if they remain dis-satisfied with our decision at the end of our two stage internal process. Some residents have referred their case to the Housing Ombudsman in the past and indeed, a small number of people are in current contact with the Ombudsman.
We are not aware of the details of the cyber-attack or how successful it was. We would encourage any resident who may have had recent contact with the Housing Ombudsman to keep an eye on the Housing Ombudsman website for further announcements. If the Ombudsman asks us to contact anyone then we will absolutely do so.
The announcement from the Housing Ombudsman is Housing Ombudsman Service statement: IT Security Incident
We wish to confirm that there has been no similar attack on Salvation Army Homes and the attack on the Housing Ombudsman does not pose any threat to our systems.
If anyone does have any questions, then please contact us on info@saha.org.uk
