We are proud to announce that we have successfully achieved The Menopause Friendly Accreditation by Henpicked. We are committed to supporting employees that are experiencing menopause and are creating a more inclusive, supportive workplace.
A large proportion of our workforce are females and at an age where they are most likely to experience menopause. Over the last few years we have worked with groups at our staff conference and taken feedback from our HAY survey which has resulted in our staff menopause group with one of the actions that came out of this being the Henpicked accreditation.
"Over the last two years at Salvation Army Homes we have put a huge amount of passion into becoming a menopause friendly employer and are so pleased this has been recognised by Henpicked who have awarded us the "Menopause Friendly Employer" accreditation. Our workforce is much more aware of what menopause is and the symptoms that can be experienced by people. We are talking about it more openly and know what ways we can support one another." Vicky Hughes – Head of People Services.
Achieving this accreditation highlights our dedication to employee wellbeing and raising awareness of menopause at work.
During this process we have taken steps to improve understanding around menopause, ensuring staff feel supported and are able to access guidance in a variety of ways such as our monthly Menopause group, Menopause advisors and resources available to staff.
For us at Salvation Army Homes the accreditation demonstrates our behaviours of being a supportive and safe workplace where employees can thrive at every stage of their career.
