Looking after electrical safety in your home
We want to support you in keeping your home safe. One way we do this is by sharing simple information about electrical safety and how to reduce any risks.
Your electrical safety check (EICR)
From time to time, we carry out an electrical safety check in your home. This is called an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR).
During this check, we look at your wiring, sockets, switches and fuse board to make sure everything is safe and working as it should. It also helps us identify any early signs of damage or issues so they can be put right before they become a risk.
Why we carry out these checks
We understand that having someone visit your home may feel uncomfortable. We want to reassure you that these checks are carried out to help keep you, your household and your home safe.
These checks are also a legal requirement. As part of your tenancy agreement, we do need to complete them. If arranging access is difficult, please let us know—we will always try to work with you and find a suitable solution.
Arranging your appointment
If your home is due for a check, we will contact you by phone to agree a convenient appointment time.
After this, you will receive confirmation by post. If your plans change, you can contact us to rearrange using the details in your letter.
You do not need to take any action unless we contact you.
